Unfortunately thinking here is a little bit flawed because the fact that chocolate causes acne is not a fact at all but is simply one of a number of acne myths. Indeed, there is no evidence at all to suggest that there is any direct connection between food and acne.

This said, curing your acne does require a combination of things including a regime of general skincare and here your diet can be important in promoting healthy skin.

The secret when it comes to skincare is simply to follow a well balanced diet which is low in fat. In other words, reduce the quantity of fatty or red meat in your diet in favor of white meats such as chicken and turkey and include fresh fish at least two or three times a week. Also ensure that you are eating plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables and not too many dairy products. When it come to dairy products, you should also avoid high fat products and turn to low (or lower) fat alternatives. For example, instead of using full-fat or full-cream milk try skimmed (or semi-skimmed or half-fat) milk.

Following a good well balance diet will not cure your acne, but it will promote a healthy skin which, in turn, will help to cure your acne.
