Pulsed and LHE Light Treatment For Acne

In cases of moderate to severe acne normal over-the-counter treatments are often of little use and sufferers need to turn to more advanced treatment options. In addition, many sufferers with even mild cases of acne are also turning to modern advanced treatment techniques which are proving increasingly popular.

One option which is certainly growing in popularity is light treatment and, for more and more sufferers, a combination of light and heat treatment known as pulsed light and heat energy (LHE) treatment.

For a long time now Ultra Violet (UV) light has been used for the treatment of acne, although with research showing that UV can also lead to skin cancer, this has now been replaced with narrow-band, high-intensity blue or green light which is designed to kill the P. acnes bacteria which play a significant role in the formation of acne.

LHE therapy now combines the effects of normal blue light therapy with heat which shrinks the sebaceous glands and reduces the amount of skin oil (sebum) which is also an important component in the acne equation.

As in the case of blue light treatment, LHE is normally applied twice a week for a period of one month and clears acne some two or three times faster than conventional drug-based treatments.

Acne Cream Differin Differin is the brand name for a retinoid-like drug known as adapalene which controls, but does not cure, acne. Pimples typically take 6 to 8 weeks to form under the skin and, during the first weeks of treatment, Differin may cause these pimples to come to the surface and thus appear to make your condition worse. Customer Review: My dermatologist recommended this after I continued to break out from moisturizers and other anti-aging prescription products. It's weird at first for me to understand because it's an acid and it doesn't make sense that it would moisturize. I'm not sure how it works but I've been using it for 3 months and have had no adverse reaction. Like other re...
