Cystic Acne Requires Special Care

The trouble with acne in general is that, if it is not treated correctly, it can result in scarring which may or may not be easy to deal with and this is especially true when it comes to cystic acne.

Cystic acne is an especially severe form of acne in which the blocked oil pore which gives rise the normal acne spot bursts and creates inflammation in the surrounding tissue by producing pus. Acne cysts can be very large and very painful and, while there is a natural tendency to want to squeeze a spot, this is even more the case with these oversized acne cyst spots. This is absolutely the worst thing you can do as it will damage the skin further and simply help to spread infection.

Cystic acne needs to be professional treated by your dermatologist and then requires specific and gentle care and, most importantly, time. Nobody wants to live with ugly spots and if we could get rid of them overnight we would certainly love to do so. However, acne takes time to treat and so patience is a must here.

Remember, although living with the effects of cystic acne for several weeks or months may not be pleasant, but living with permanent scarring because you did not care for your cystic acne properly will be far worse.
