Is It Possible To Cure Hormonal Acne?

The simple answer to the question of whether or not you can cure hormonal acne is yes and no.

Precisely what causes acne remains something of a mystery although it is well known that hormones play an important part, which is why acne tends to be seen most often during the teenage years and in women during the menstrual cycle. Indeed, it is this fact which gives rise to the term hormonal acne which does not really exist and simply refers to a simple case of mild to moderate acne (or acne vulgaris).

There is in fact no cure for acne, although there are many treatments which will help to lessen the effects of acne and, most importantly, to help to eliminate scarring once your acne does eventually clear up. In this sense therefore there is no cure for hormonal acne.

Acne, whether treated or not, will eventually disappear and, for many people, this happens once there hormones settle down and explained why so many cases of acne disappear once children pass out of puberty. In this sense there is a cure for hormonal acne and that cure is simply to let nature take its course.

Perhaps the most important thing to remember though is that if anybody tells you that acne is simply a case of waiting for your hormones to settle down and in the meantime doing nothing is simply wrong. Acne should always be treated not to cure it but to reduce its severity and to eliminate the possibility of unsightly scarring once nature has runs its course.
